Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti would like to see Davide Frattesi start against AC Milan this weekend.

The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri will clash heads this Saturday in the famous Derby della Madonnina.

Since making the summer switch to the Nerazzurri, Frattesi has yet to make a starting appearance for the club.

But after scoring a brace in Italy’s 2-1 victory over Ukraine on Tuesday, many have been calling for the midfielder to start this weekend.

Ex-Inter owner Moratti echoes this sentiment, urging Simone Inzaghi to thrust the 23-year-old from the first minute.

“I would put Frattesi on Saturday from the first minute. He’s too good to start from the bench,” argued the 78-year-old in an interview with Quotidiano Sportivo via FcInterNews.

Moratti also evoked some memories from the past. He reveals Mario Corso as his all-time favorite Nerazzurri star.

“I didn’t regret spending money for Inter, not even my father did. The world has changed now.

“My son Mao as president? I took charge of the club at the age of 50. So he has time on his side.”

“Mario Corso is definitely my favorite Inter player. Ronaldo is right behind him. The Brazilian did the same things as Pelé and Maradona, but at a higher speed.”

The former patron also dwelled on his rapport with some of the Inter coaches who were at the helm during his time at the club.

“I don’t express any moral judgment, a professional has the right to freely determine his future”, says Moratti while recalling Mancini’s resignation after a defeat against Liverpool which was later withdrawn.

“I’ve changed many coaches, but I felt sorry for Simoni on a human level, even if I was convinced it was the right thing to do.

“Mourinho? I can only speak about him with immense gratitude. In the end, he wanted to join Real Madrid since 2009.

“Let’s say that maybe on the night of the Treble victory, he could have avoided leaving in the same car with Florentino Perez, but he gave his all to Inter.”

Finally, Moratti heaped praise on Inzaghi, while tipping Marcus Thuram to decide the Derby.

“I like how the team plays with Inzaghi. If he includes Frattesi in the Derby I swear I’ll like him even more!

“I hope Thuram decides the match. He is a modern striker and he has already won the hearts of the supporters.

“I was disappointed by Lukaku. He repaid the club, his teammates and the fans in the worst possible manner.”
