French international footballer Benjamin Pavard is a FIFA World Cup winner who recently joined Italian Serie A side Inter Milan from German Bundesliga side Bayern Munich on a five-year deal that reportedly cost €30 million.

The 27-year-old, left-footed defender became the Italian top-flight league’s most expensive signing in the summer transfer window. Let’s take a closer look at where he might fit in at Inter under manager Simone Inzaghi.

Where Is Inter Manager Inzaghi Most Likely To Play Benjamin Pavard?

Pavard has been hailed as one of the best signings of the summer, and it looks as though he will easily fit in nicely to Inzaghi’s backline, which usually includes just three men.

He’s an extremely versatile player and can play in the middle or on the right. However, he always seems to be a much better player when playing as a right centre-back. This is where Inzaghi will most likely put him.

This means he will be in front of former teammate and current Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Also joining Pavard in defence will be Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan De Vrij.

What Are The Chances Of Inter Winning Serie A With Benjamin Pavard?

To find out just how likely it is that Inter Milan will win Serie A this season, the best thing to do would be to check the latest odds at today’s most trusted online bookmakers.

The official 32red sports betting site, for example, which is known for having some of the most competitive Serie A and football betting odds in the iGaming industry, currently has Inter Milan priced at 2/1.

In other words, they are the odds-on favourite team to win the 2023/24 Serie A campaign outright. 2/1 fractional odds is also the same as saying that Inter’s implied probability rate of winning the league is 33.33%.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the other teams that also stand a chance at winning Serie A this year:

  • AC Milan – currently priced at 3/1 (with a 25% implied probability rate). In American/moneyline odds, 3/1 is +300. If you prefer decimal odds, it’s 4.00.
  • Napoli – currently priced at 7/2 (22.20% implied probability rate). In American/moneyline odds, 7/2 is +350. If you prefer decimal odds, it’s 4.50. Don’t forget that Napoli are the current reigning champions, having won in the 2023/24 campaign
  • Juventus – currently priced at 4/1 (20% implied probability rate). In American/moneyline odds, 4/1 is +350. If you prefer decimal odds, it’s 5.00

In other words, although Inter are the current odds-on favourite, it still looks as though it will be a closely fought contest between these top four Italian teams.

Where Are Inter In The League Right Now?

Inter Milan are currently sitting at the top of the table after just 3 games played. Inter have won all 3 of their Serie A games. They are on 9 points, while local rivals AC Milan are also on 9 points. Inter are just above AC Milan in the table with a 2-goal difference advantage.

In their opening game of the season on August 19th, at home to Monza, they won 2-0 in front of a packed crowd at the San Siro, thanks to two goals from Lautaro Martinez.

On August 28th, they travelled away to play Cagliari in a result that also finished 2-0 to Inter, Martinez netting the second goal. Then on September 3rd, they played Fiorentina at home, beating them 4-0.

Once again, Martinez netted a brace, taking his total tally so far this season to five goals in three games.

When Inter return for Serie A action on September 16th, they play fierce rivals AC Milan, and then on September 20th, they play their first group stage match in the UEFA Champions League against Real Sociedad.
