Coach Simone Inzaghi has given the Inter Milan the day off from training following yesterday evening’s derby win over AC Milan.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri coach is expecting the player’s back in training tomorrow ahead of the team’s return to Champions League action in midweek.
Yesterday, Inter faced off against city rivals Milan in the derby.
The Nerazzurri got an emphatic 5-1 win in that match, keeping their perfect start to the season alive.
Inter had only a couple of days to prepare for yesterday’s match as a full squad. This was because the players were filtering back into training from international duty throughout last week.
And things aren’t going to get any quieter any time soon for Inter.
This is because of the return of Champions League football. The Nerazzurri will be back to playing essentially two matches each week for the foreseeable future.
Simone Inzaghi Gives Inter Milan Squad Day To Rest After Milan Derby
According to Sky, Inzaghi has decided to allow his players to take today to spend with their families.
The players are not in training today.
This comes after Inter played in an intense and draining match against the Rossoneri yesterday evening.
Naturally Inzaghi is happy with the result of that match, and above all, with his team’s performance.
And then tomorrow, the coach will expect his squad right back in training.
The Nerazzurri will have just a couple of days in which to get up to speed for their next match. Inzaghi and his squad fly to San Sebastian where they’ll face off against La Liga side Real Sociedad in the Champions League.
And preparations for facing La Real will start tomorrow.
Right now, though, the team can enjoy the day off that they earned with their performance against Milan yesterday.
