Inter Milan have told the squad how much they are allocating in terms of Champions League bonuses this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will set aside around €6 million in total for potential bonus payments to award to the squad for progression in the competition.

Last season, members of Inter’s squad ended up receiving bonus payments for every single round of the Champions League.

The Nerazzurri directors decided to award the payments for each knockout round that the team.

First, Inter got out of a group containing Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Viktoria Plzen.

Once the team had booked their place in the round of sixteen, the directors awarded them bonus payments. And the same was true along each step of the way in the knockout rounds.

Inter players received bonuses for the quarterfinals, the semifinals, and the final.

The same will be true this season. And the Gazzetta report that the club have already told the players what they have allocated for these bonuses.

Inter Milan Allocate €6M In Champions League Bonus Payments

According to the Gazzetta, Inter have put aside a potential €6 million in bonus payments for the squad.

They would spread this out equally among each round of Europe’s top club competition.

Inter begin their group stage campaign today, against Real Sociedad. Their group also contains Benfica and Red Bull Sazlburg.

Should the Nerazzurri reach the round of sixteen from this group, then the squad will receive a bonus payment of €1.5 million between themselves.

Then, the same amount is on offer for each additional knockout stage that the team reach.

The Gazzetta report that the club have already informed the players of this.

There is hardly a need for any additional incentive for the Inter squad to want to go far in the Champions League.

But there is the possibility of an additional financial reward nevertheless.
