Midfielder Davide Frattesi will start for Inter Milan against Sassuolo tomorrow, whilst Benjamin Pavard will drop to the bench.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will already be thinking about which players he’ll start against Sassuolo just a couple days after the Nerazzurri played their most recent match in the league, away to Empoli on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Gazzetta, the coach will make a couple changes from that match. But it will not be a complete overhaul of the lineup.
In midfield, the newspaper anticipates that midfielder Frattesi will keep his place.
The 23-year-old had made his first ever start for Inter on Sunday in Tuscany. He had previously come off the bench in each of the Nerazzurri’s matches so far in the campaign.
Frattesi will get the nod once again, playing against the team that he joined from in the summer.
The Gazzetta expect that Nicolo Barella will return to the starting eleven. Therefore, Henrikh Mkhitaryan will drop to the bench.
The Armenian has started every single one of Inter’s matches so far.
Frattesi To Start For Inter Vs Sassuolo – But Not Pavard
One player the Gazzetta does not expect will start on Wednesday is French international defender Pavard.
The 27-year-old had started in each of Inter’s last two matches in all competitions, against Real Sociedad and Empoli.
Pavard played the fully ninety minutes in both matches, his first two appearances in an Inter shirt after joining from Bayern Munich during the summer.
But according to the Gazzetta, Pavard will not start on Wednesday.
Rather, it will be Matteo Darmian returning to his place on the right side of the back three.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted Inter lineup to face Sassuolo is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Frattesi, Calhanoglu, Barella, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
