Midfielder Davide Frattesi will be in the Inter Milan starting eleven for this evening’s Serie A clash with his old team Sassuolo.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Italian international Frattesi joined Inter from Sassuolo during the summer transfer window.
The Nerazzurri had to beat the competition of AC Milan, Roma, and Juventus to sign Frattesi.
And Inter have made a significant investment to sign the 24-year-old. Frattesi is a player who they are clearly backing to be a key part of their midfield for several seasons to come.
And Frattesi has already started to show signs of what he can contribute in a Nerazzurri shirt.
After a positive preseason for the Azzurri midfielder, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has integrated Frattesi into the lineup fairly methodically. He has not thrust the player straight into the starting eleven, but nor has he shown any lack of trust.
Frattesi had appeared in each one of Inter’s first five matches across all competitions. He did so as a substitute.
Then on Sunday, the 24-year-old made his first start for the Nerazzurri. He played for around seventy minutes against Empoli.
Davide Frattesi To Start For Inter Milan In Serie A Clash Vs Sassuolo
Frattesi has already bagged both a goal and an assist for Inter.
The Italian scored his first ever Nerazzurri goal in Serie A against AC Milan in the derby. He found the back of the net in stoppage time to round off a 5-1 win for Inter.
And Frattesi’s first assist was even more important.
The former Sassuolo midfielder set up Lautaro Martinez for a vital equalizer against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.
Frattesi will only be aiming to improve from here, though.
And the 24-year-old could already get the chance to do so this evening.
According to the Corriere della Sera, Frattesi will keep his spot in the starting eleven against his former team Sassuolo.
