Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu received the lowest grade following his team’s 1-2 defeat at the hands of Sassuolo.

The 29-year-old is an instrumental member of Simone Inzaghi’s starting formation. He has become the club’s undisputed choice for the Regista role since the departure of Marcelo Brozovic last summer.

But like several of his teammates, the Turk couldn’t deliver the goods against the Neroverdi on Wednesday night.

Denzel Dumfries put Inter ahead before the halftime break, but the Emilians pulled off a stunning comeback.

According to the player ratings of Il Corriere dello Sport (via FcInterNews), Calhanoglu was the worst performer on the pitch last night.

The former AC Milan star received a rating of 4.5/10. The source berated the midfielder for bowing down to Domenico Berardi’s winning strike.

The striking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram also received low grades (5/10). The same goes for Yann Sommer who allowed Nedim Bajrami to beat him on his near post.

Dumfries earned the highest note (6.5), while veteran defenders Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij received 6/10.

Inter Milan Midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu Received The Lowest Rating In The Sassuolo Defeat

Several of the Nerazzurri stars received a rating of 5.5/10. This includes Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alessandro Bastoni, Matteo Darmian and Nicolo Barella.

Coach Simone Inzaghi is in the same boat. The source warns that last season’s troubles against smaller clubs have returned to haunt the Nerazzurri manager.

Inter remain on top of the table with 15 points from the first six Serie A rounds. But their crosstown rivals AC Milan are now on par with them, while Juventus are only a couple of points behind.
