An Italian report chastises Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi who opted to make four substitutions at once in the defeat against Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri were enjoying a brilliant start to their campaign. But their winning streak reached its halt as they succumbed to a 1-2 defeat at the hands of the Neroverdi.

Denzel Dumfries gave the hosts the lead much to the delight of the crowd at San Siro. However, Domenico Berardi led a second-half revolt that saw the Emilians emerge victorious.

with his side trailing at home, Inzaghi decided to rock the boat, introducing four players in the 68th minute.

Stefan de Vrij replaced Alessandro Bastoni at the back. Carlos Augusto took over from Federico Dimarco on the left flank, while Davide Frattesi entered as a replacement for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the middle of the park.

Finally, Marcus Thuram left his place for Alexis Sanchez upfront alongside club captain Lautaro Martinez.

According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Inzaghi’s four simultaneous changes further confused the team.

While Inter were looking for a jolt of energy, the abundance of substitutions forced the team into an adjustment period, argues the Turin-based newspaper.

The source also criticises the 47-year-old for removing Thuram who was one of the most impactful players on the pitch.

The report also explains that the Nerazzurri couldn’t find the same pattern in the second half after dominating the first period.

For their part, Sassuolo kept threatening with counter attacks despite the mounting pressure from Inter. This further complicated the situation for the league leaders.
