Inter Milan trio Lautaro Martinez, Alessandro Bastoni, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will all get a rest against Salernitana this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also anticipate that it will be Alexis Sanchez who starts in place of Martinez in attack.

So far this season, there have been four players who have started every single one of Inter’s matches in Serie A.

One of them has been goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

And in terms of outfield players, there are three. Captain and striker Martinez, defender Bastoni, and midfielder Mkhitaryan.

But according to the Gazzetta, after this evening’s trip to Campania, only Sommer will have started every league fixture for Inter.

Lautaro, Bastoni & Mkhitaryan To All Rest Vs Salernitana – Sanchez To Start

Inter captain Martinez has been an everpresent for the entire season.

The 26-year-old has not only started every single one of Inter’s matches in the league so far in the campaign. He was also in the starting eleven for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener away to Real Sociedad. He saw out the entire match.

But against Salernitana this evening, Martinez will finally get a chance to catch his breath.

The Gazzetta report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will instead start Alexis Sanchez in attack.

The Chilean former Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona veteran will make his first start since returning to Inter this summer.

In defense, meanwhile, Bastoni will make way for Stefan de Vrij.

The Dutchman will start in the centre of Inter’s back three, whilst Francesco Acerbi will move out to the left.

Lastly, midfielder Mkhitaryan will also finally get a rest.

The 34-year-old former Roma and Arsenal man has been a key man for Inter in midfield. But the Gazzetta report that he will make way for Davy Klaassen on the left side of the midfield trio this evening in Salerno.
