Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has played the most minutes out of any Nerazurri outfield players so far this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also note that midfielders Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu’s are the two players just behind the captain.

Martinez has been everpresent for Inter this season.

The Argentine has started all six of the team’s matches in Serie A, generally seeing out all ninety minutes. And he also played the full match against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.

Therefore, it is not too much of a surprise that Martinez is the player who has played the most for Inter among outfield players so far in Serie A.

The Gazzetta note that Martinez has played 601 minutes so far.

Lautaro Martinez Leads The Way For Inter In Serie A – Mkhitaryan & Calhanoglu Behind Him

Technically, Yann Sommer is Inter’s top appearance-maker. The Swiss goalkeeper has played every minute of the campaign, as Emil Audero and Raffaele Di Gennaro.

But in terms of outfielders, Martinez is top of the pile.

However, there are a couple players not far behind the captain.

Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has similarly been at the heart of Inter’s team this season. The Armenian has played a total of 579 minutes in all competitions.

Mkhitaryan has started every single one of Inter’s matches in all competitions so far.

One player who hasn’t always started has been Hakan Calhanoglu.

The former AC Milan midfielder missed out on the trip to San Sebastian to face La Real for fitness reasons.

But nevertheless, in Serie A Calhanoglu has virtually always been on the pitch.

The 29-year-old has played a total of 513 minutes so far this campaign.

Calhanoglu will likely start against Salernitana this evening. On the other hand, Martinez and Mkhitaryan will not.
