Inter Milan wingback Juan Cuadrado will be back from injury for tomorrow evening’s Champions League match against Benfica.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina wingback Cuadrado is one of four Inter players currently out with an injury.

The Colombian missed Saturday evening’s Serie A match away to Salernitana. Striker Stefano Sensi and midfielders Stefano Sensi and Davide Frattesi were also out of that match.

Cuadrado has in fact yet to make an appearance for Inter after the September international break.

Heading into that international break, the 35-year-old had appeared in every one of Inter’s matches. He has yet to start for the Nerazzurri, but has made three substitute appearances.

Cuadrado even grabbed an assist for Inter captain Lautaro Martinez.

But during the international break, Cuadrado suffered from some muscle problems. These were found to be tendinitis.

The issue may not be overly serious, but has nevertheless prevented the veteran wingback from getting back on the pitch. The aim has been to avoid taking any risks with his fitness.

Inter Wingback Juan Cuadrado To Return To Fitness To Face Benfica

According to the Gazzetta, the wait for Cuadrado to be back fit and available is over.

The 35-year-old returned to partial training yesterday.

And today, he has been training with the rest of the squad.

And Cuadrado’s injury should not pose any issues for him as far as being part of the squad to face Benfica tomorrow.

The Nerazzurri face the Portuguese champions in their second group stage match of the season.

The match is virtually a must-win for Inter. They had a disappointing draw away to Real Sociedad in their group stage opener.

Therefore, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will want his whole squad at his disposal. Accordingly, he will be happy to have Cuadrado back.
