Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram is happy to receive praise from Julio Cruz.

Speaking to InterTV following yesterday evening’s Champions League win over Benfica, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman revealed that he used to play as the Argentine former Nerazzurri striker on his Playstation.

Thuram has gotten off to an excellent start to life at Inter.

The 26-year-old scored his third ever goal for the club in yesterday’s win over Benfica.

And it was his most decisive one yet. Thuram’s strike in the second half was enough to give Inter three vital points to gain a foothold in their Champions League group.

Thuram has not just been scoring goals either. The Frenchman has also been assisting goals for his teammates.

And Thuram’s play all around the pitch – not just around the penalty area – has been a revelation in terms of Inter’s overall style of play.

Therefore, the 26-year-old has won plenty of praise for his first couple months as an Inter player.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram Happy With Praise From Julio Cruz

Former Nerazzurri striker Cruz has been one of the prominent figures associated with the club who has heaped praise on Thuram.

“It makes me very happy to hear,” the Frenchman said of Cruz’s praise.

“I always used to play as him on Playstation, so hearing those kinds of words from him makes me happy.”

And of his celebration with Denzel Dumfries yesterday Thuram said “I’ve made a lot of friends here. I’m also friends with Lautaro and Barella.”

Of the support from the San Siro, Thuram said that “It’s incredible to have the fans pushing us on for ninety minutes.”

“They gave us a big help. It was great to get three points in front of them.”

And of chants of support for him in particular, Thuram said that “I couldn’t hear them from the pitch.”

“But it’s great to hear. They pushed us on throughout the match.”

“At the start of the match we could really feel them behind us, and in the end we won,” he noted.
