Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram is deemed fit to play in the Serie A clash against Bologna on Saturday afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Frenchman scored the goal that earned the Nerazzurri their first win in the Champions League this season. The Italian giants beat Benfica 1-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

However, the 26-year-old had to leave the pitch in the second half due to physical discomfort.

This sounded the alarm bells at Appiano Gentile, especially with fellow striker Marko Arnautovic also injured.

But luckily for the club, it turned out that it was only a cramp. The player had a sore calf but avoided injury.

So according to Il Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, the club has medically cleared Thuram who should be part of the matchday squad this weekend.

Simone Inzaghi’s men host Bologna at the San Siro, this Saturday afternoon on Match Day 8 of the Serie A.

But while the manager will be able to count on the former Borussia Monchengladbach man, the source believes that Alexis Sanchez could get the nod instead.

The Chilean veteran could start upfront alongside club captain Lautaro Martinez. In such a case, Thuram could start on the bench but Inzaghi would surely resort to his services if he’s still chasing the result in the second period.

The France international has thus far contributed with three goals and six assists from nine appearances across all competitions.
