Striker Marcus Thuram feels that he has found the kind of group and atmosphere that he loves at Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old hailed the way the current Nerazzurri squad enjoy playing together.

Thuram got his third ever goal as an Inter player on Tuesday evening. And it was arguably the most important one that he’s scored yet.

The Nerazzurri were desperate for three points in their second Champions League group stage match of the season.

In the opener away to Real Sociedad, the team had salvaged a draw.

But the performance was far from a convincing one. Inter needed to produce a response and take three points from their second match of the season.

Therefore, Thuram’s goal was enough to put Inter’s efforts to reach the knockout rounds of Europe’s top club competition for the third season running right back on track.

The Nerazzurri could truthfully have had one or two more goals at least in the second half.

But a combination of profligate finishing and some brilliant goalkeeping by Anatoliy Trubin prevented that from being the case.

But it was the clinical Thuram who proved to be Inter’s match-winner. The Frenchman did very well to slot past Trubin when the ball fell to his feet, and he gave his side three huge points.

Marcus Thuram: I Found What I Love At Inter Milan

Of his goal, Thuram said that “I work a lot with Denzel [Dumfries] in training. This evening he had the vision to find me at the near post, and I scored in front of our fans.”

He continued that “I’m a player who loves playing with his teammates.”

“I love learning from them, and that’s what I found here at Inter.”

“It’s a very, very united team, and it’s easier to become part of a team like that.”

“We’re a group of players who love playing together and spending time together,” he added. “In training and off the pitch.”

“That’s very important, because we care about each other. There’s a love between us.”
