Inter Milan defender Yann Bisseck reveals he was shocked to learn about the club’s interest in his services last summer.

The 22-year-old completed a transfer from Danish club Aarhus. The Nerazzurri spent 7 million euros to acquire his services.

The German could hardly believe that the Serie A giants were enquiring for his services.

“When I played in Denmark and Inter’s name first came up, I was a bit in disbelief,” admitted the Germany U21 starlet in his interview with Geissblog via FcInterNews.

“Now, I settled in and have my own apartment. I have yet to learn Italian, but I understand it largely because I speak French. As soon as I learn the language, I will feel completely at home here.”

Bisseck insists that his objective is to become one of the strongest defenders in the world.

“In the beginning, I have to be patient, work to fit in, and learn a little. After all, I’m one of the youngest players in the squad.

“But in five years, the plan is for me is to become one of the best defenders in the world. I’m renowned for my potential and this is the best place to develop it, even though it might take some time.

“But I think in the long run, joining Inter will prove to be the right decision.”

The young defender spoke about his debut with Inter. He entered the pitch as a second-half substitute against Monza on the opening day of the season.

San Siro is already an amazing stadium. It was really overwhelming how loud and passionate the fans are.

“I was really happy to play, with the fans supporting us in their own fabulous way.

“Of course, there was also pressure because the coach expected certain things from me. But for the most part, it was a joyful experience because I played officially for Inter and took the next step in my career.

“It was a great feeling. The stadium is obviously a bit old-fashioned, but the pitch is perfect. This is something you have to experience to believe. I was very happy that the coach gave me a few minutes in the first match.”

Bisseck admits that there’s a language barrier between him and his manager Simone Inzaghi.

“Of course, there is still a small language barrier because they don’t speak English too much in here.

“But that’s why I’m learning Italian. I now understand more precisely what the coach is asking me to do.

“You have to earn his trust. Already at the beginning of training, I noticed that I had to prove myself first and that I couldn’t even think about starting matches.

“To be honest, I wasn’t used to this situation. In my old clubs, I had always known that I was going to start.”
