Inter Milan will be back in training this week, but without a total of fifteen players who are away on international duty.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter’s season will pause for a couple weeks for the international break.
The Nerazzurri’s disappointing 2-2 draw against Bologna yesterday was their final match before the break. They will return to action away to Torino on the return from the break.
A lot of Inter’s squad, naturally, will be going away for international duty during the break.
The Gazzetta note that a total of fifteen players will be absent this week.
They will begin filtering back into training next week.
So in the meantime, the coach will be able to work with a fraction of his squad. But many of the key starters will not be in training until next week.
Inter Back In Training This Week – But Without A Sizable Chunk Of The Squad
Inter coach Inzaghi has given his squad a couple days off to rest and recuperate before expecting them back in training.
The Gazzetta report that the team will be back on Wednesday.
There, the Inter coach can take the chance to work on some tactical ideas without the pressure of playing every few days.
In particular, the coach could do some experimentation in attack.
Both former Arsenal and Roma midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and former Ajax and Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen will be available in training. Neither will be part of their national team setups during the break.
Therefore, Inzaghi will get the chance to work with both as potential attacking midfield options.
The Nerazzurri are currently looking rather shorthanded in attack.
The injury to Marko Arnautovic has meant that there are only three senior strikers available. Therefore, the Inter coach could decide to switch things up a bit.
