Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that his coach Simone Inzaghi has improved his intelligence, and his partnership with Lautaro Martinez is instinctive.

The 26-year-old spoke to French news outlet L’Equpe, via FCInterNews.

Thuram has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Inter.

In his first few months at the club, the Frenchman has shown little signs of difficulty settling-in.

On the contrary, Thuram has looked like a player virtually tailor-made for Inter’s 3-5-2 system.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach and Guingamp man has already scored three goals – and made five assists for teammates.

Thuram seems to have the exact right qualities – as well as the tactical understanding – to lead the line in Simone Inzaghi’s formation.

And for his part, the 26-year-old also credits both his coach and his teammates with his fitting in so fast.

Thuram is very happy with the environment that Inter have given to grow and improve his game.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram Praises Inzaghi & Lautaro

Thuram said of his coach Inzaghi that “He’s given me a vision of football where everything you do is meant to achieve something.”

“You move on the pitch, you call for the ball, it’s all for a good reason.”

“I don’t know if what I’m saying is clear,” the striker went on. “In fact, every moment on the pitch triggers another movement as well.”

“And this is achieved by working every day in training,” Thuram said.

“With lots of video analysis, or on the pitch, eleven against zero, with every movement coordinated in an incredibly precise way.”

The Frenchman noted that “The coach has improved my intelligence for the game.”

Of his assist rate early on in the season, Thuram said that “I’ve always had a very altruistic concept of football.”

“In reality, I don’t want to force anything,” he explained.

“The idea is always to respect the game, to go back to what I was just saying, to be intelligent.”

“If I have to make the pass, I have no problem doing so,” Thuram said. “If I have to score, it’s the same.”

And of how he’s developed his understanding with strike partner Martinez, the 26-year-old explained that “It’s quite organic.”

“Lautaro is one of the best strikers in the world,” he went on.

“We rely on instinct. We feel each other’s game out.”

Thuram said of Martinez that “He’s a great technician, he knows how to get his teammates involved in the game.”

“He’s clinical inside the area,” he continued.

“What I like about him is a certain quality in his last touch of the ball, a certain qalm that he has.”

“I’m happy to play with him,” the Frenchman said of his strike partner and captain Martinez.

“And then supporting us is Alexis Sanchez, who never gets discouraged. He’s inspiring.”

“And then I also get a lot of encouragement from Marko Arnautovic,” Thuram added. “It’s the perfect club for me to grow and develop at.”

“There’s still a lot that I have left to work on,” the Frenchman made clear.
