The agent of Stefan de Vrij has made clear that he is happy with his Inter Milan contract extension, and eager to win the Serie A title.
The Dutchman’s agent Federico Pastorello spoke to Italian broadcaster Radio Sportiva, via FCInterNews.
This summer, 31-year-old Dutch international and former Lazio defender de Vrij signed a contract extension with Inter.
The defender put pen to paper on a new deal until the end of June 2025.
De Vrij joined Inter from Lazio on a free transfer during the summer of 2018.
And the Dutchman had the opportunity to leave the same way he came, via a free transfer, if he had so chosen. De Vrij’s previous contract ran out at the end of June, and he could have looked for a new adventure.
However, de Vrij instead decided to commit his future to Inter.

Had de Vrij decided not to accept an offer from Inter and leave on a free transfer, Villarreal had been strongly linked as a destination.
Meanwhile, Premier League giants Manchester United have been linked with the Dutchman recently.
Two other English teams have also reportedly shown interest, in the form of Aston Villa and Leicester City.
French team Marseille also came forward with interest.
De Vrij’s agent Pastorello explained that “We had some other interest. But we never seriously looked into any of them.”
He stated that “Stefan is very happy to have signed an extension.”
“He’s focused on trying to win the Serie A title. That’s what he’s hoping for.”
De Vrij has already won the Serie A title once with Inter – during the 2020-21 season.
The Dutchman, formerly of Feyenoord as well as the Biancocelesti, made 32 appearances in Serie A that season.
De Vrij has made 211 appearances for the Nerazzurri across all competitions so far.
