Inter Milan are actively scouting 24-year-old Monza midfielder Andrea Colpani with a view to a potential future transfer.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews.

Young midfielder Colpani is a player who has enjoyed an outstanding start to the current season.

He has scored four goals in Serie A over the first four matches in the campaign.

That is as many as Colpani had scored across the entirety of last season. He had played 27 matches over the course of last campaign.

Now, Colpani is an undisputed part of Monza coach Raffaele Palladino’s first-choice starting eleven.

The 24-year-old has formed a trio with former Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini, and Brianzoli captain Matteo Pessina.

Colpani had initially joined Monza on loan from Atalanta in the summer of 2020. He spent two seasons in Serie B with the club, helping them achieve promotion during the 2021-22 campaign.

The Brianzoli signed Colpani on a permanent deal that summer. He has been a fixture in the team ever since.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old has earned call-ups for Italy up to the Under-21 level.

However, he has yet to be a part of the senior Azzurri squad.

Inter Following Monza Midfielder Andrea Colpani

Mediaset report that Colpani is one of the players who Inter are looking at as a possible midfield option for future transfer windows.

Naturally, the 24-year-old now knows Serie A and Italian football very well.

Colpani has experience playing in a midfield trio. He has shown his attacking adeptness for Monza, where his late runs and technique in the final third have become a potent weapon.

But the Italian also has a fair bit of versatility in his locker.

Inter’s signing of Davide Frattesi during the summer showed that the Nerazzurri are keen to build a team around young Italian talent.

And as Mediaset note, Inter have a positive relationship with Monza.

Similarly, the Nerazzurri also have a strong rapport with Colpani’s agent Tullio Tinto.
