It’s not yet time to panic for Inter Milan, as statistics still show a very strong start to the season with reasons for optimism.

This is the view in Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet cautions against “alarmism” and argues that the Nerazzurri have still been the best team in Serie A so far.

Inter will undeniably be looking at the league table and shaking their heads.

The Nerazzurri have fallen two points behind AC Milan – a team they had beaten 5-1 in a statement derby win just a few weeks ago.

This is the result of frustrating dropped points against the likes of Sassuolo and Bologna.

These stumbles have led to some real question marks about the Nerazzurri’s title credentials. Just a couple weeks ago Inter were widely regaded as Scudetto favourites – now, not so much.

No Reason For “Alarmism” At Inter Milan

FCIN note that Inter have scored the most goals in Serie A so far this season – 21.

And at the other end, the Nerazzurri have allowed just five. That’s good enough for the best defensive record in Serie A.

Inter have faced frustration as they have conceded goals at just the wrong time to drop points.

But the reality is that the overall record is very positive. Inter have the best goal difference in Serie A by some margin – sixteen.

That in essence means that the Nerazzurri have scored two more than they’ve conceded for each match they’ve played.

In the Champions League as well, it’s been a good start for Inter.

It may not have felt that away after the team’s opener away to Real Socieadad.

Inter were lucky to snatch a point after a very difficult match against a high-pressing La Real team. The Nerazzurri were barely in that match until the final fifteen or twenty minutes.

But the Nerazzurri salvaged a point which could prove very important when it comes time to qualify for the knockouts.

Then, against Benfica, Inter put in a statement performance to record three points and gain a foothold in their group.

So from the perspective of FCIN, things may not be perfect. But a couple disappointing results is no reason to think that a very good start to the season has gone off the rails.
