Inter Milan Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has denied transfer links to Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Speaking to Albanian journalists whilst at an Albanian FA ceremony, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri excutive also gave his clear backing to young midfielder Kristjan Asllani.

Young Chelsea striker Broja is the latest name to come up regarding Inter’s potential January search for a striker.

Reports indicate that the Nerazzurri may dip into the transfer market at the next opportunity.

The reason for this is that Inter are not entirely satisfied with the attacking options that they have.

An injury to Marko Arnautovic has left the team looking thin on the ground in attack. And so far, Alexis Sanchez has yet to make a major impact, particularly in terms of ruthlessness and physical presence in the final third.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are reportedly pondering a January signing to add an out-and-out striker to the squad.

Broja is currently a Chelsea player. But there are questions about the 22-year-old’s playing time.

Therefore, reports indicate that a loan move could be a possibility for the young Albanian international to Inter.

But Ausilio has poured some cold water on these suggestions.

Ausilio Denies Inter Links To Chelsea Striker Armando Broja

Asked about the links to Broja, Ausilio was straightforward in his reply. “No, I’m sorry, but it’s not true,” the Inter Sporting Director said.

“Because we’re happy with the forwards we have.”

“I know Broja, and I know that he’s recovering from a serious injury,” he continued. “And also that he also scored a goal recently.”

“I hope that he can play a big part for the national team starting Thursday,” the Nerazzurri executive continued.

“But as far as joining Inter, there’s no chance.”

Ausilio also spoke about another Albanian player, midfielder Kristjan Asllani. Inter signed Asllani from Empoli last summer.

“We signed Asllani because we consider him a player good enough to play for Inter,” he said.

“Even if he’s young and has relatively little experience.”

“Like all young players he needs time,” the Inter Sporting Director stressed.

“We believe in him, including the coach.”

“In the last transfer window we sold Brozovic, in order to give him more opportunities,” Ausilio said.

“We also have Calhanoglu in that position.”

“He’s playing, and then his experience with the national team will make him even better,” he added. “We believe in him a lot.”
