Wingback Denzel Dumfries feels that playing for Inter Milan is a “privilege.”

The 27-year-old spoke to Dutch broadcaster NOS, via FCInterNews, also addressing the possibility of a contract extension for him at the Nerazzurri.

Dumfries is in his third season at Inter.

The Dutchman arrived from PSV in the summer of 2021.

After a settling-in period during his first season at the club, Dumfries has become a regular in the Inter starting eleven.

The 27-year-old was in the Nerazzurri starting eleven in the Champions League final, as he had been throughout the knockout stages of the competition.

And this season, Dumfries has started most of Inter’s matches so far.

The Dutchman’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2025 currently.

Reports suggest that the Nerazzurri are keen to discuss a new deal, however.

Denzel Dumfries: Playing For Inter A “Privilege”

Dumfries has made 105 appearances in an Inter shirt so far.

The wingback has scored nine goals across all competitions for the Nerazzurri. He has also made a habit of popping up with very important goals.

So far this season Dumfries has scored twice in Serie A.

Dumfries has also gained a similar reputation for big goals with his national side.

The Inter wingback has scored six goals for the Netherlands across 47 appearances.

Of being at Inter, Dumfries said that “I feel very good there.”

“It’s a fantastic club, there’s a lot of warmth. Fantastic people within the club, and incredible fans.”

The Dutchman admitted that “For me it’s a privilege to play for Inter.”

“I I feel at home there.”

And on the question of a contract extension with the Nerazzurri, Dumfries didn’t give too much away, but certainly didn’t rule a new deal out.

“We’ll see what happens over the next few months,” the 27-year-old said. “I’m curious.”
