Former Juventus and Lazio midfielder Hernanes feels that there is no reason for him to regret that time that he spent at Inter Milan.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the Brazilian looked back on his time as a Nerazzurri player.
Hernanes spent a season and a half at Inter.
The midfielder had joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio midway through the 2013-14 season.
And he then stayed for the 2014-15 campaign. After that, Hernanes made the move to Juventus.
During his one full season at Inter, Hernanes suffered from injuries that perhaps limited his impact.
The Brazilian made a total of 42 appearances for Inter, and 52 in all competitions.
He scored seven goals for the Nerazzurri.
It was hardly the most auspicious of spells for Hernanes at Inter. That was particularly the case given that he joined the club whilst it was in the midst of a period of turmoil.
However, the 38-year-old doesn’t see the period that he spent at Inter as a regret in his career.
Hernanes: No Regrets About Time At Inter Milan
Hernanes said about his time at Inter that “I have no regrets.”
“I’m just sorry that we won our first couple matches playing good football, and then I got injured,” he went on.
“Injuries are the most unfortunate thing that can happen to you as a footballer.” Hernanes continued.
“But then I came back from injury and then there were some positives that I was able to take from it.”
“Obviously the goal that season was to finish in the top places and qualify for the Champions League,” the Brazilian said.
“Obviously we didn’t manage to do that. But I still look at it as a period of growth for myself.”
