Roma forward Paulo Dybala will miss out on next weekend’s Serie A match against Inter Milan through an injury.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster report that the Argentine’s target for a return is instead the Derby della Capitale against Lazio next month.
Giallorossi forward Dybala suffered another injury setback as he had to come off the pitch in the Giallorossi’s last match before the international break.
The 29-year-old had started his team’s Serie A match away to Cagliari.
But towards the end of the first half of the match, Dybala pulled up with a knee injury. It immediately became clear that the Argentine World Cup winner would have to come off.
Dybala was in tears as he left the pitch. Former Torino striker Andrea Belotti took his place.
The Argentine therefore spent the break recovering. He is getting closer and closer to being able to return to the pitch, but it will still be a matter of weeks.
Roma To Be Without Paulo Dybala In Serie A Clash Vs Inter
Initially, there had been some optimism that Dybala could be back for next Sunday’s trip to the San Siro.
It always looked likely that the 29-year-old would miss today’s match against Monza, which he indeed did.
And Dybala will also be out of Thursday evening’s Europa League clash with Slavia Prague.
But in fact, Sky reports, the former Juventus and Palermo forward will also be out even longer than that.
The broadcaster anticipates that it will still be another couple of weeks.
According to Sky, Dybala could potentially be back before the November international break. The Giallorossi’s final match before the break is a massive derby clash against Lazio.
But the Argentine is not likely to be back before then.
And he certainly will not make his return in time to play against Inter.
