Defender Alessandro Bastoni and Denzel Dumfries will both start for Inter Milan against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League tomorrow.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Inter only returned to action from the international break a couple days ago.
The Nerazzurri took on Torino away in Serie A on Saturday, beating the Granata 3-0.
But there is hardly any time to rest. On the contrary, Inter will have to play again early tomorrow evening.
The Nerazzurri play their third Champions League group stage match for the season. They host Austrian champions Red Bull Salzbug at the San Siro.
And it will be a tough, demanding match against an opponent who will aim to play at a very high tempo and force mistakes out of Inter with their physical, organized style of pressing.
Therefore, there is little doubt that Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will make some changes.
But according to Sky, there will only be three changes tomorrow.
Bastoni & Dumfries To Return To Inter Starting XI To Face Red Bull Salzburg In Champions League
According to Sky, the biggest changes to the starting eleven for tomorrow’s group stage clash will come on the flanks.
The broadcaster anticipates that Inzaghi will switch out both wingbacks.
On the right, that will mean that Dutch international Dumfries starts rather than Matteo Darmian.
Dumfries didn’t start against Torino. However, the 27-year-old did have a major impact from the bench, as he assisted Marcus Thuram for Inter’s opener.
And on the left, Federico Dimarco will drop out of the starting eleven.
Former Monza wingback Carlos Augusto will replace him. Brazil is coming back from an international break in which he made his first ever appearance for Brazil.
Meanwhile, in defense, Alessandro Bastoni will start.
The 24-year-old former Atalanta and Parma defender did not play over the weekend. But Sky anticipates that he will take Stefan de Vrij’s place in the back three.
