Henrikh Mkhitaryan feels that staying at Inter Milan and signing a new contract is certainly a possibility.

The 34-year-old former Manchester United, Arsenal, and Roma midfielder spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. He also gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg.

At the moment, Mkhitaryan’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of next June.

The Armenian signed a two-year deal when he signed from Roma last summer transfer window.

But if Mkhitaryan’s arrival had initially looked like more of a short-term depth signing, he has proved to be anything but on the pitch.

The 34-year-old is still a key part of Inter’s starting eleven. And regardless of his age, the ex-Giallorossi midfielder has shown absolutely no signs of slowing down.

Therefore, by all accounts Inter will want to keep Mkhitaryan for at least another season or two.

However, as of yet there has been no agreement on a new deal.

And for his part, the Armenian is not in any rush as he focuses on the team’s schedule on the pitch. But he certainly wouldn’t rule it out.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Gives Inter Contract Hint

As far as his contract, Mkhitarytan said “I don’t know. The important thing is to play and train.”

“We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks, whether the club wants to extend my contract.”

“I’m working hard to extend my career,” he added.

Mkhityaryan made clear that “I still have a few good years left to enjoy myself. Then I can think about retiring.”

The Armenian noted that “It wasn’t easy to play against Torino.”

“iI the first half we struggle, but in the second half we got our reward and won the match 3-0.”

“It was important to win to establish a positive mood in the dressing room for tomorrow,” he added.

And as far as the importance of the two matches against Salzburg, Mkhitaryan said that “We’ll think about the return match. But first let’s focus on tomorrow.”
