Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will make 4-5 changes to the starting eleven in tomorrow’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.
Inter only returned to action from the international break a couple days ago.
The Nerazzurri took on Torino away in Serie A on Saturday, beating the Granata 3-0.
But there is hardly any time to rest. On the contrary, Inter will have to play again early tomorrow evening.
The Nerazzurri play their third Champions League group stage match for the season. They host Austrian champions Red Bull Salzbug at the San Siro.
And it will be a tough, demanding match against an opponent who will aim to play at a very high tempo and force mistakes out of Inter with their physical, organized style of pressing.
Therefore, there is little doubt that Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi will make some changes.
According to Tuttosport, the 47-year-old could make as many as five rotations to his starting eleven compared to the team that lined up against Torino over the weekend.
Frattesi & Augusto Among Inter Players Who Could Start In Champions League
One player who’s likely to start tomorrow is former Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi.
The 24-year-old came off the bench against Torino.
But against Salzburg, it should instead be a starting place for Frattesi. Tuttosport report that he will replace either fellow Italian international Nicolo Barella, or former Arsenal and Roma veteran Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Meanwhile, it will almost certainly be wholesale changes on the flanks.
On the left, Denzel Dumfries will replace Matteo Darmian. And Carlos Augusto should take the place of Federico Dimarco on the opposite flank – the Brazilian made his Brazil debut over the international break.
Lastly, Tuttosport report, Alessandro Bastoni should also start.
The 24-year-old didn’t play a minute against Torino on Saturday. But he will come into the starting eleven for either Stefan de Vrij or Francesco Acerbi tomorrow.
