Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will keep their starting places for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s Champions League match against Red Bull Salzburg.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper also report that the likes of Carlos Augusto and Davide Frattesi could start the match.

Martinez and Thuram are certainly Inter’s unquestioned first-choice pair in attack.

Marko Arnautovic remains out with an injury, and even once he’s back will surely be more of a backup option. And Alexis Sanchez has yet to really find his form in his second stint with the Nerazzurri.

Martinez and Thuram, on the other hand, have both been delivering the goods all season long.

Both the Argentine and the Frenchman started for the Nerazzurri against Torino over the weekend.

And both got on the scoresheet. Thuram broke the deadlock, whilst Martinez scored Inter’s second goal.

Given that both strikers played just a couple days ago, there may well be some temptation to rest at least one of them.

Not least because Inter captain Martinez returned late from international duty.

But according to the Gazzetta, that will not happen. Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi will opt to start both Martinez and Thuram again.

Lautaro & Thuram To Start For Inter Vs Salzburg – Augusto & Frattesi Also Likely To Start

According to the Gazzetta, Inzaghi does not fully trust Sanchez to start against Salzburg tomorrow.

Therefore, it will be the usual strike partnership once again. They’ll keep their places from Saturday’s win over Torino.

There will, however, be some changes to the lineup elsewhere on the pitch.

The Gazzetta report that wingback Carlos Augusto is almost certain to start.

The Brazilian can take the place of Federico Dimarco on the left flank.

And on the right, Denzel Dumfries will start. Matteo Darmian will drop out of the starting eleven.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta also anticipates that midfielder Davide Frattesi will replace Nicolo Barella in the starting eleven.
