Midfielder Davide Frattesi believes that Inter Milan are hard for opposition teams to defend against because everyone can join the attack.

The 24-year-old spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after the Nerazzurri beat Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

Inter gave a good demonstration of their attacking prowess to dispatch Salzburg in their third group stage match of this season’s Champions League.

And Italy and former Sassuolo midfielder Frattesi was heavily involved all the time.

The 24-year-old dummied the ball to Alexis Sanchez for Inter’s opener.

And then it was Frattesi who won the penalty which Hakan Calhanoglu scored to regain the advantage in the second half.

When Frattesi signed for Inter, he already had a reputation as a midfielder who’s very comfortable making late runs into the penalty area.

And that quality was certainly on show against the Austrian champions yesterday.

Davide Frattesi On What Makes Inter Attack “Unpredictable”

“Every move we make comes from tactics we try in training,” said Frattesi after yesterday’s match.

“The work that we do with the coach bears fruit,” he went on.

“The important thing is to have brought home the points for the team.”

“We’d prepared to play the match like this,” Frattesi noted. “We had seen on the projector how we were up against a team who came to press us high, but also left holes at the back.”

“We were good at keeping them at a distance,” he said of the Nerazzurri’s defensive structure against Salzburg.

And on the importance of late runs into the final third, Frattesi said that “That’s the secret.”

“Everyone can get themselves forward at any moment. That creates havoc for opposition defenses.”

“Having the possibility of switching it up like that makes us less predictable,” the Italian international observed. “And that can certainly be an advantage for us.”
