After resting some of his key players in midweek, Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi will unleash his strongest line-up in the weekend showdown against AS Roma.

The Nerazzurri hosted RB Salzburg on Tuesday in the third matchday of the Champions League group stage. The Italians emerged victorious with two goals to one to remain on the right track.

Inzaghi opted to drop some of the most renowned names at his disposal from the starting formation. The manager kept Nicolo Barella, Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco on the bench.

But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, the 47-year-old will field his strongest available line-up for the San Siro clash against the Romans.

Despite scoring the opener in midweek, Alexis Sanchez will make way for Thuram. The Frenchman will spearhead Inter’s charge alongside club captain Lautaro Martinez.

In the middle of the park, Barella will reclaim his starting berth alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu. Therefore, Davide Frattesi will start on the bench, but should earn a cameo in the second half.

Moreover, Dimarco will replace Carlos Augusto who started on the left flank on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries will maintain his spot on the right flank.

At the back, Italian veteran Francesco Acerbi should return to the starting formation. The former Lazio man should slot in between Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni.

The backline will be looking to frustrate Romelu Lukaku on his much-anticipated return to the Giuseppe Meazza, while the Nerazzurri supporters will certainly do their bit to derange their former hero who now returns as a villain following last summer’s soap opera.
