As Roma coach Jose Mourinho identifies Inter Milan as the strongest club in Italian football ahead of Sunday’s major showdown.

The Nerazzurri will host the capital side on Sunday evening at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

After receiving a red card last weekend against Monza, the  Special One will be serving a touchline ban.

Nevertheless, the 60-year-old is looking to make up for his absence with his psychological warfare.

Following Roma’s 2-0 win over Slavia Praga in the Europa League, the Portuguese turned his attention towards the weekend clash.

Mourinho insists that Inter are the strongest side in Serie A and his team will do its utmost best to earn a result.

The journalists were hoping to extract a comment from the manager on Romelu Lukaku’s reception at San Siro, but instead, he diverged the subject towards Inter’s strength.

“I only talk about us. Talking about us means saying that we are going to Milan to play a match against the strongest team in Italy,” declared Mourinho in his post-match press conference via FcInterNews.

“I don’t know if my friend Max [Allegri], Rudi [Garcia], or Pioli think otherwise. But in my opinion, the Nerazzurri are stronger.

“We already have a difficult task ahead of us. So we can’t think of anything other than go there to play.

“We have a small squad with a lot of problems. They played on Tuesday while we played on Thursday.

“But we will go there to play and that’s it, fighting for a result.”

Once again, Mourinho reiterated the fact that he didn’t receive a red card on purpose to skip the encounter against his former club.

“I’m not superstitious, I always think that the team is stronger when we are all present, coaches and players.

“Unfortunately this season I don’t remember a single match where everyone was available. I don’t remember a match with Renato, Pellegrini, Mourinho, Lukaku and Dybala.

“If some idiot thinks that I would be happy not to be on the bench on Sunday, then he’s truly an idiot.”
