Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Benjamin Pavard in defense and Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries out wide against Roma this evening. The Nerazzurri take on Roma in a Serie A clash with kickoff scheduled for 18.00 CET.

Inzaghi has made a few changes to the team that beat Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League during the week.

Firstly, in defense Francesco Acerbi starts.

The Italian international neither started nor came off the bench against Salzbirg. Rather, Stefan de Vrij played at the heart of Inter’s back three in that match.

However, one former Lazio defender takes the place of the other. Therefore, Acerbi replaces de Vrij in the Inter starting eleven.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard keeps his place on the right of the back three. And then, Alessandro Bastoni completes the defensive trio.

Secondly, Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco play on the wings.

Dumfries started against Salzburg during the week. However, Dimarco did not play in that match – the fully-rested Italian international comes back into the team.

Thirdly, in midfield it is the trio that has become first-choice for Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi.

Therefore, that means that the familiar setup of Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan start.

Meanwhile, Inter’s deadline day signing Davy Klaassen is on the bench.

The former Ajax and Everton midfielder had started against Salernitana. But he has been restricted to cameo appearances even since that match.

Lautaro Martinez & Marcus Thuram Lead The Line For Inter Vs Bologna

Fourthly, in attack it is the first-choice pairing.

Accordingly, it’s Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram leading the line. That pair is clearly the one which Inzaghi considers to be the two main men in the big matches.

Thuram did not start against Salzburg. Rather, Alexis Sanchez had started that match – the Chilean put in a solid display and scored the match’s opening goal.

Meanwhile, both of Davide Frattesi and Stefano Sensi are also fit enough to make the squad, but do not start.

And Marko Arnautovic is not in the lineup due to a long-term thigh injury. Juan Cuadrado is also missing, due to a tendon progblem.

Meanwhile, young summer signing Yann Bisseck is on the bench once again.
