Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram has earned praise for being the decisive factor in yesterday’s Serie A win over Roma.

L’Interista note that the player ratings for the match have universally been positive regarding the Frenchman’s performance.

Thuram has already been showing that he can score important goals for Inter.

The 26-year-old was the difference in the Nerazzurri’s 1-0 Champions League win over Benfica, for example.

And Thuram was also the scorer of the opening goals in matches against the likes of Fiorentina and Torino.

But Thuram arguably got his most important goal yet yesterday evening.

Marcus Thuram Decisive In Inter Milan Win Vs Roma

The Nerazzurri were in a similar position to their match against Benfica as the second half of yesterday’s match against Roma.

Like against Benfica, Inter were dominating in terms of the chances that they were creating.

However, once again the Nerazzurri were not managing to break through.

There were shots that hit the woodwork. There were also saves from Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

But then end result was a match that began to feel a bit like it could end in a frustrating result for Inter.

And unlike against Benfica, things got very close to the wire.

It was already past the eightieth minute, and the Nerazzurri still were not able to break the deadlock.

Captain Lautaro Martinez was having a bit of an off night. Set pieces were not proving to be the difference.

So the doubt was naturally starting to creep in. Where was the goal going to come from for Inter.

But the Nerazzurri kept playing their football, patiently building up and looking for ways to creat openings.

It was a ball from Kristjan Asllani that really opened up the Roma defense, with Federico Dimarco getting into a crossing position in space.

And then the Italian international played the ball in for Thuram.

The Frenchman made no mistake. He scored yet another vital goal.
