Inter Milan CEO Beppe Marotta has dropped a big hint at interest in signing Monza midfielder Andrea Colpani.

Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Nerazzurri CEO’s recent word regarding the club’s transfer strategy.

Inter CEO Marotta gave a candid recent interview in which he discussed some transfer targets for Inter.

As Tuttosport notes, there were two particular names that caught the eye among the executive’s remarks.

One was Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic. The Serb had been a very high-profile transfer target for Inter during the summer whose move collapsed in equally high-profile fashion.

And the other was Andrea Colpani.

Inter CEO Marotta did not exactly directly confirm an interest in signing the 24-year-old when asked about him. But he certainly didn’t close the door.

Rather, Marotta made clear that Inter and Monza are two clubs with a great relationship. He suggested that if there is a possibility to sign Colpani, Inter may well take it.

Inter CEO Marotta Hints At Andrea Colpani Interest

Inter are already thinking about the future of their midfield, particularly in terms of possibilities to sign young players.

The idea would be to sign an attack-minded box-to-box central midfielder with goalscoring and creative ability.

And as Tuttosport notes, Inter CEO Marotta has given a clear window into the club’s current ideas.

On the one hand, the executive gave a cold response regarding Samardzic.

There have been one or two recent rumours that Inter could resume their interest in the Serb. But Marotta hardly hinted at this.

On the other hand, when questioned about Colpani, the Inter CEO strongly suggested that a deal could be on the cards.

Inter look to have fully moved on from Samardzic after a summer of controversy.

And they have turned their attention to Colpani in a big way.
