Carlos Augusto and Alexis Sanchez will both come into the starting eleven for Inter Milan away to Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter will have a chance to wrap up qualification for the Champions League round of sixteen on Wednesday.

If the Nerazzurri are to win, they will be mathematically guaranteed a place in the knockouts for the third season running. Three points would mean Salzburg and Benfica can’t catch them.

And getting qualification wrapped up with a couple matches to spare would certainly be useful for Inter.

The Nerazzurri are also concentrating on Serie A. They would certainly welcome having some of the pressure of the midweek matches off.

But beating Salzburg away will not be easy.

Therefore, Inter coach Inzaghi will want to find a balance between starting a team strong enough to win against the Austrian champions, and also resting some key starters.

Carlos Augusto & Alexis Sanchez To Start For Inter vs Red Bull Salzburg

One change that Inzaghi will almost certainly make according to the Corriere is on the left.

Federico Dimarco started for Inter against Atalanta over the weekend.

The 25-year-old had also seen out the majority of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Roma over the weekend. He provided the assist for Marcus Thuram’s winner late on in that match.

But Dimarco has shown one or two signs of fatigue this season. Particularly late on in matches.

Therefore, Augusto will be the player to start on the left.

The 24-year-old former Monza wingback has certainly shown that he can cover the physically demanding left-sided position.

Augusto has also won his first cap for Brazil in the most recent international break.

And another player who will get a rest is Marcus Thuram.

The Corriere report that veteran Chilean international will be the man to start alongside Inter captain Lautaro Martinez in attack.
