Inter Milan have asked for information about signing teenage Djurgadens and Sweden Under-21 midfielder Lucas Bergvall.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who identify the 17-year-old as a player on the Nerazzurri’s radar in midfield.
Inter are considering their options in midfield for the future.
At the moment, a number of players in central areas at the Nerazzurri have their long-term futures in doubt.
For example, Stefano Sensi’s contract runs out at the end of next June. The 28-year-old ex-Sassuolo man has barely featured this season and is largely out of the project.
Summer arrival Davy Klaassen is another player who has been a relatively marginal figure so far.
And Henrikh Mkhitaryan has started nearly every one of Inter’s matches. And this has meant that the Nerazzurri want to extend the 34-year-old’s contract.
But Mkhitaryan’s age means that he is still undeniably an option for the present and not the future.
Inter Ask For Information About Sweden Starlet Lucas Bergvall
Therefore, Inter are actively looking around for possible signings who could inject youth and more of a perspective for the future into their midfield.
There is Davide Frattesi, who arrived from Sassuolo in the summer and only turned 24 this season.
But the Nerazzurri could look even younger than Frattesi.
According to Tuttosport, Inter have spoken to Swedish club Djurgardens about teenage midfielder Bergvall.
Naturally, Bergvall’s experience in senior football is still relatively limited.
But the fact that the Swede has already made 24 top flight appearances certainly indicates early signs of maturity.
According to Tuttosport, Inter have asked for information about the 17-year-old.
Bergvall may not be a player who Inter plan to immediately make their move for in the next couple transfer windows.
But the groundwork is being laid. The Nerazzurri are following the young Swede’s development with a view to a possible future move.
