Inter Milan are considering Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazaroui and Lazio’s Adam Marusic as possible replacements for Denzel Dumfries.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who detail the Nerazzurri’s succession plan in case Dumfries is to depart next summer.

At the moment, Inter are not seriously considering selling Dumfries.

The 27-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of June 2025. But the Nerazzurri are working to extend his deal until the end of June 2027.

Dumfries has very much remained a regular starter at the beginning of this season.

And so the main idea in the absence of big offers is very much to try and keep hold of the former PSV wingback.

But at the same time, Inter are also considering alternative plans in case they decide to sell Dumfries.

There is still interest in the Dutchman’s signature. Particularly from the Premier League.

And according to Tuttosport, if an offer of around €50 million were to arrive for Dumfries, Inter would certainly be strongly tempted by it.

This would, after all, represent a significant capital gain compared to what the Nerazzurri paid for Dumfries.

Inter Shortlist Noussair Mazaroui & Adam Marusic As Dumfries Replacements

According to Tuttosport, if Inter were to sell Dumfries, they would likely go after a player who’s already on their radar.

There’s Canadian international Tajon Buchanan. But in the case of Buchanan, the Nerazzurri may go after the 24-year-old one way or the other – to replace Juan Cuadrado.

However, if Dumfries departs there would be reason to completely revamp on the right flank.

Bayern and Morocco man Mazaroui is one of Inter’s targets to replace Dumfries.

The ex-Ajax man could well depart from the Allianz Arena next summer, two seasons after arriving on a free transfer.

And then Lazio’s Marusic could represent a lower-cost option. Moreover, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has already worked with the Montenegrin successfully in the past.
