From assists to clean sheets to set piece goals, the statistics reveal an Inter Milan who have dominated Serie A in nearly all respects.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Nerazzurri’s blazing start to the season across a number of categories.

Inter are top of the table, with the most points in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri have scored the most goals, and conceded the fewest.

Obviously, these are the kinds of statistics that will be most important in assessing Inter’s start to the season.

However, there is more to Inter’s start to the campaign than just these.

And the Gazzetta rattles off a few more impressive statistics that see the Nerazzurri well out in front of the rest of the Italian top flight..

Underlying Statistics Show “Dominant” Inter In Serie A

First, there is the matter of assists.

Whilst Lautaro Martinez has grabbed the headlines with his twelve league goals, Marcus Thuram has also led the league in a different category.

The Frenchman has made five assists so far in the campaign. That is more than anyone else in Serie A.

And Federico Dimarco is just behind Thuram.

The Inter wingback has assisted four goals. This puts the 26-year-old level with a few other players in joint-second in the assist chart.

Inter have scored 29 goals this season – and have recorded 22 assists for them. That’s more assists than anyone else in the campaign.

That statistic shows how the Nerazzurri have played as a team to create their chances. And have done so better than anyone else in the Italian top flight.

And at the other end, Inter have kept eight clean sheets from their first four matches.

That’s more than anyone else in Serie A except for Juventus, who also have eight.

Inter have the most goals from defenders at five, and the most from set pieces at nine.

Then there is the Nerazzurri’s conversion rate of chances at 14.22%. That is also the highest in the league.

What appears clear, the Gazzetta argues, is that across a slew of statistical categories, Inter are simply a more well-oiled machine than anyone else in Serie A at the moment.
