Former midfielder Felipe Melo believes that Inter Milan have everything necessary to win the Serie A title under Simone Inzaghi.

The Brazilian spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews.

Over the first few weeks of the season, Inter have looked like the favourites for the Serie A title in the eyes of many.

The Nerazzurri have opened up a significant gap over rivals like AC Milan and Napoli.

Only Juventus have kept pace with Inter. The Bianconeri are just two points behind Simone Inzaghi’s team.

But on the other hand, many had labelled Inter as favourites for the title in each of the past two seasons under Inzaghi.

And in both cases, the Nerazzurri fell short.

During the 2021-22 season, Inter lost out to city rivals AC Milan on the last day. It was just a couple points separating the great derby rivals.

Then last time around, the Nerazzurri finished miles behind champions Napoli.

Felipe Melo: Inter Have Everything It Takes To Win Serie A Title Under Simone Inzaghi

For his part, former Inter, Juventus, and Fiorentina midfielder Melo believes that Inter can do it this time around, though.

The Brazilian said to DAZN that “Inter are ahead of everyone else.”

“I would have expected something more from Roma,” he went on. “Even if I remain a great admirer of Mourinho.”

“Meanwhile Juventus are not the same team they were 4-5 years ago.”

Melo said that “This season Inzaghi has everything needed to win the title.”

Inter and Juventus meet each other on the other side of the international break.

This time around, the Derby d’Italia has the air of a potential title-decider.

Both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri have a decent gap over the rest of the field already. And they could both be aiming for a statement win in their first match back from the break.
