Despite his early return from international duty, Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu will be ready to lead the charge against Juventus.

The Bianconeri will host the Nerazzurri for a top-of-the-table at the Allianz Stadium.

Simone Inzaghi’s men are currently leading the standings, while the Old Lady has emerged as their ultimate challenger for the Scudetto title.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FcInterNews, Calhanolgu left the Turkish national team camp earlier than expected due to flu.

The 29-year-old missed out on his team’s last two training sessions, so the federation opted to send him home.

Thus, the former AC Milan star won’t take part in his nation’s friendly encounter against Germany on Saturday.

Moreover, the Roman newspaper doesn’t expect him to rejoin the squad for the Euro 2024 qualifier against Wales.

Turkiye have already qualified for the competition’s finals with ease. Therefore, the encounter in Cardiff will have little significance for Vincenzo Montella’s men.

Inter Milan Will Be Able To Count On Hakan Calhanoglu In Juventus Clash

Moreover, Calhanoglu’s wife is about to give birth. This is an additional reason for the midfielder to remain in Milano.

Nevertheless, Hakan’s premature return isn’t a worrying sign for Inzaghi, as the player will certainly be available for next weekend’s major clash.

In fact, this could be a boost for the manager who will have the Regista at his disposal for the entire week.

On the contrary, the source confirms that Alessandro Bastoni will miss the match against Juventus.

Like Calhanoglu, the Italian returned early from international duty. However, the latter’s muscle strain rules him out of the big clash.
