Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has given updates on Inter Milan’s efforts to sign Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski and Porto’s Mehdi Taremi.

Writing in his column for Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the transfer market expert also gives a positive update on the Nerazzurri’s chase of Lille defender Tiago Djalo.

As Pedulla notes, Inter are already laying the groundwork for possible free transfer signings.

It’s no secret that the Nerazzurri actively court these kinds of deals.

Therefore, Inter’s directors have been looking at players whose contracts run out at the end of next June.

Napoli midfielder Zielinski, Porto striker Taremi, and Lille defender Djalo are three such players in whom Inter are seriously interested.

But according to Pedulla, the status of their respective pursuits are different.

In the case of Zielinski, Pedulla anticipates that the Polish international is still keen to extend his contract with Napoli.

As things stand, Zielinski’s deal expires at the end of next June.

But the 29-year-old, who has been a Partenopei player since 2016, is happy in Naples. He feels a connection to his club.

Therefore, Zielinski’s priority is likely to be to stay on at Napoli.

But that’s no guarantee that the negotiations will result in a new deal for Zielinski.

And if the Pole is to leave Napoli, Pedulla anticipates that Inter are very much ready to make a move to bring him in.

Signing a player of Zielinski’s quality and Serie A experience without a transfer fee would certainly represent a coup.

As far as Porto striker Taremi, Pedulla reports that Inter’s directors are confident.

The Nerazzurri’s management believe that the 31-year-old Iranian international would give them priority.

Therefore, Inter are preparing to make an offer to sign Taremi next summer.

And lastly, Pedulla confirms that Inter are going absolutely full speed ahead in their pursuit of 23-year-old Lille defender Djalo.

The SportItalia transfer market expert notes that Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is a big fan of the Portuguese.

Djalo, along with Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, has been one of Ausilio’s main defensive targets for some time.

And given that the Portuguese can be signed without a transfer fee in the summer, Inter are not wasting any time.
