Simone Inzaghi has become known for his calm demeanour behind the scenes, but also flexes his authority with the Inter Milan dressing room.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, note how the 47-year-old has guided the Nerazzurri squad through moments of pressure.

Tomorrow evening, Inter encounter one of their toughest challenges of the season so far.

The Nerazzurri travel to Turin to face Juventus. They do so as first and second in the table respectively, with just a couple points separating the team.

Clearly the pressure on tomorrow’s match will be intense.

But as the Corriere note, Inzaghi has become a coach with a real knack for these kinds of moments.

How Simone Inzaghi Guides Inter Squad Through Pressure

During his time at both Inter and Lazio, Inzaghi has had a reputation for being a coach who maintains a serene attitude during moments of pressure.

And this has been the case in the leadup to tomorrow’s match against Juventus, the Corriere report.

The atmosphere behind the scenes at Inter is not overly tense.

The players understand the significance of the occasion. But there is more excitement to play it than there is a dread at the possibility of a bad result.

That is the result of Inzaghi’s calm attitude and not overreacting.

But the coach, the Corriere suggest, is not so calm that he doesn’t have authority in the dressing room.

On the contrary.

The newspaper note how Inzaghi handled the situation with Romelu Lukaku last season.

The coach was the man who welcomed the Belgian back. But he was never afraid to leave Lukaku on the bench, even if it soured their personal and professional relationship.

Similarly, Inzaghi had allowed defender Wesley Hoedt to be sold by Lazio.

But the coach brought the Dutchman back to the Biancocelesti.

Despite the lack of too much overt intensity from Inzaghi, the 47-year-old pays close attention to making sure he commands the respect of the squad, the Corriere suggests.
