Inter Milan are only looking at Lecce midfielder Ylber Ramadani as a Plan B option if they need to beef up their squad.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s interest in the 27-year-old is not as serious as some rumours have indicated.

Albanian international Ramadani is a player whose name has come up as a possible target for Inter in recent weeks.

Reports have suggested that the Nerazzurri have scouted the 27-year-old.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio has, according to these rumours, watched Ramadani play for both his club Lecce and for his national team Albania.

But according to FCIN, it is not exactly true that Inter are seriously targeting Ramadani.

There has certainly been some observation of the Lecce midfielder. But the Nerrazzurri do not consider signing him to be anything like a priority.

Inter Consider Lecce Midfielder Ylber Ramadani Plan B – Nothing More

At the start of this season, Ramadani has made the adaptation to Serie A impressively.

The Albanian joined Lecce from Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen over the summer.

Ramadani had a fairly tough task. He was essentially the like-for-like replacement for Morten Hjulmand in Lecce’s engine room.

Hjulmand massively impressed last season. His performances earned the Dane a move to Sporting CP in Portugal.

But so far, Lecce have hardly missed Hjulmand.

On the contrary, Ramadani’s performances in midfield have helped the Calabrian team impress to keep themselves clear of the relegation battle so far.

Despite never having played in a top five European league prior to this season, Ramadani has shown sufficient technical quality and physicality to cope with the level of Serie A.

Nevertheless, that does not necessarily mean that the 27-year-old is up to the level of Inter.

On the contrary, FCIN report, the Nerazzurri do not believe this to be the case.

That does not mean, of course, that there would be no chance of Inter moving for Ramadani.

But this would be more of an opportunistic signing to add depth in midfield.

The Albanian would be more of a “seventh” midfielder, if the club missed out on other targets. But Inter do not see Ramadani as a starting-quality option for their project, FCIN report.
