Wingback Juan Cuadrado could get a call-up for tomorrow evening’s Serie A match between Juventus and Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

If there was a match that Cuadrado will have circled on his calendar when he joined Inter, it would be tomorrow’s.

The 35-year-old Colombian international made the shock move to the Nerazzurri in the summer. He did so after his contract with Juventus expired.

But former Chelsea, Fiorentina, and Lecce man Cuadrado didn’t just join after a spell in Turin. He had spent eight years as a regular fixture for the Bianconeri.

The sight of such a familiar face from Juventus in an Inter shirt came as a surprise to many.

But evidently circumstances converged so that Inter saw the opportunity to bring in a high-quality Serie A veteran at low-cost, regardless of past associations.

And Cuadrado was happy to make the switch across the Derby d’Italia divide.

Juan Cuadrado Could Be Called Up For Juventus Vs Inter

The way things have been going for Cuadrado has suggested that the Colombian’s presence would be a doubt for tomorrow’s match.

The reason is simple – fitness and injury problems.

Cuadrado missed every single one of Inter’s matches between the October and November international break.

The 35-year-old has been dealing with tendon problems.

Whilst not necessarily a serious injuries, these issues have been persistent. Therefore, they have prevented him from training normally and being in condition to play.

Cuadrado’s last appearance was a thirty-minute substitute appearance against Bologna before the October break.

He had also played from the bench in all of Inter’s first three Serie A matches.

In any event, Cuadrado is now finally back to training fully.

Therefore, it shouldn’t be too long before the Colombian can get back on the pitch.

There is certainly no chance of Cuadrado starting tomorrow’s top-of-the-table clash against his former side. That responsibility will fall to Denzel Dumfries.

But the 35-year-old could at least be in his first matchday squad since the clash with Bologna.
