Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer feels that the Nerazzurri shouldn’t have conceded against a team sitting back like Juventus were.

The 34-year-old reacted to the 1-1 Serie A draw speaking to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews.

Inter mostly kept Juventus at bay in yesterday evening’s Serie A match.

The Bianconeri looked content to keep a deep, compact shape to prevent Inter from scoring. Then when any errors in possession from the Nerazzurri arrived, they were ruthless on the counter.

This has become the standard for Juventus under Max Allegri.

It has been a formula that the Turin giants have implemented successfully.

The blistering pace and quick decision-making of forwards like Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic has meant that the Bianconeri can create decisive opportunities out of seemingly nothing.

And that is what happened yesterday evening at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus had largely been sitting back even in the opening stages of the match.

But all it took was one loose touch from Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries. And the Juventus forwards were able to have the ball in the back of the net just about before the Nerazzurri knew what had hit them,

It’s not the first time that the Bianconeri have scored a goal like that.

But from the perspective of Inter keeper Sommer, he’s still not happy with it.

Inter Keeper Yann Sommer: Shouldn’t Be Allowing Juventus To Score

“It was an important point for us,” Sommer said after the match.

“It was the top two teams in the league going head-to-head.”

“It was a very tactical match,” the Nerazzurri keeper noted.

“In the end we got a good point.”

“We had prepared for a match like this,” the Swiss said. “We knew that they’re a very solid and compact team.”

“It’s important not to concede the opening goal against teams like Juve,” he went on. “They like to sit back in defense.”

“We conceded, but then luckily the equalizer arrived not long after.”

The Inter keeper noted that “The second half was very tactical. There weren’t many chances.”
