Striker Marko Arnautovic will start for Inter Milan in Wednesday evening’s Champions League group stage match away to Benfica.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908.

One thing that looks certain is that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will rotate his team against Benfica on Wednesday.

The coach used his strongest team against Juventus yesterday. That was little surprise considering the top-of-the-table Serie A clash.

Meanwhile, it doesn’t get much easier for Inter in the league.

On Sunday Inter travel to Naples to face defending champions Napoli.

That is another match which could prove to be decisive for the Nerazzurri’s title chase.

In the Champions League, on the other hands, it’s a bit of a different story.

Inter do still have top spot to fight for in their group. They are currently level on points with Real Sociedad.

But qualification for the round of sixteen is now certain.

Therefore Inzaghi will aim to rest some key players against Benfica, who have yet to take a single point in the Champions League. He will do so in view of Sunday’s league match away to Napoli.

Marko Arnautovic To Start For Inter Vs Napoli

Former West Ham United, Stoke City, and Bologna striker Arnautovic is finally back in contention to start.

The 34-year-old had been out with a thigh injury for around six weeks.

But Arnautovic made his return from the bench against Frosinone before the international break.

Then the Austrian also played as a substitute against Juventus yesterday.

Arnautovic has already started a Champions League match for Inter this season.

The striker started against Real Sociedad in the Nerazzurri’s group stage opener.

And according to Sky, Arnautovic will do so again.

The Austrian will allow one of either Lautaro Martinez or Marcus Thuram to catch their breath from the start.
