Inter Milan are looking at Atalanta wingback Hans Hateboer as a possible target to replace Juan Cuadrado next season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews. The outlet report that the Nerazzurri scouted the Dutchman in a recent Serie A match.

With Serie A back following the international break, Atalanta faced Napoli.

La Dea lost the match 2-1, in what was the Partenopei’s first ever outing under Walter Mazzarri following the veteran coach’s arrival for the second time, replacing Rudi Garcia.

According to FCIN, Inter had a scout watching the match. The main task was to observe some Atalanta players.

Inter have certainly done their share of business with La Dea over the past several years.

And among their targets are high-profile players like Giorgio Scalvini and Teun Koopmeiners.

Neither of that pair would come cheap. But if Inter are to make a big investment next summer, they would consider targeting both.

But according to FCIN, there was also another name on the Nerazzurri’s radar during the match.

Inter Looking At Hans Hateboer As Possible Juan Cuadrado Replacement

According to FCIN, Inter were also watching the performance of Dutch international Hateboer.

The 29-year-old is back from a knee injury that had kept him out for a number of months.

He has been in action since the start of September.

Hateboer’s current contract with Atalanta runs out at the end of next June, however.

Therefore, if the Dutchman does not agree a new deal, he could be available on a free transfer.

And there is every chance that Inter could be looking to sign a new right-wingback next summer.

Juan Cuadrado’s future looks to be quite up in the air. The 35-year-old former Juventus wingback has been dealing with injury issues this season that have raised doubts about his viability.

Therefore, Inter could be on the lookout for a replacement on the right flank.

And Hateboer would represent a possible opportunity to sign a player in the position with plenty of Serie A experience.

The 29-year-old came off the bench for Atalanta in their loss to Napoli over the weekend. He replaced the injured Davide Zappacosta.
