Cagliari’s Nahitan Nandez and Club Brugge’s Tajon Buchanan are at the top of Inter Milan’s list of potential replacements for Juan Cuadrado.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

It will not be long before Inter have to dip into the market to sign a right-wingback.

Juan Cuadrado came in during the summer transfer window. But the Colombian was little more than a stopgap option.

There is certainly no denying the former Juventus and Chelsea veteran’s quality.

But given Cuadrado’s age, it always looked perfectly clear that he was being signed for the short term.

However, at the start of the season, the 35-year-old has been dealing with fitness problems.

There may be one or two signs that Cuadrado has put these behind him.

The Colombian has come off the bench in both of Inter’s matches after the international break – against Juventus in Serie A and Benfica in the Champions League.

But he still has not been able to play from the start. The Colombian’s fitness has only allowed for him to make substitute appearances.

Nandez & Buchanan Top Inter Shortlist Of Cuadrado Replacements

Over the next few weeks, Inter will have a decision to make.

According to the Gazzetta, if the Nerazzurri do not deem Cuadrado’s fitness to be reliable, they could move to reinforce on the right flank next month.

Otherwise, a signing in the position would arrive next summer.

And the newspaper anticipate that Inter have two possible names in mind.

Both are players who the Nerazzurri have targeted in the past.

One is versatile Cagliari and Uruguay midfielder Nandez.

The 27-year-old is a player who can play both in central areas or on the flank. He has shown his suitability to playing on the right in a 3-5-2 system.

Meanwhile, Brugge and Canada wingback Buchanan has also been on Inter’s radar for more than a year now.

And the Nerazzurri could make their move – even as early as January – to replace Cuadrado.
