Alessandro Bastoni will aim to be back against Udinese this Saturday, whilst Benjamin Pavard could be back for matches against Bologna or Lecce for Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter have been coping without a couple of key defenders in recent weeks.

Former Bayern Munich and Stuttgart defender Pavard has been out for around a month. The Frenchman picked up a knee injury against Atalanta at the start of November.

Then for Bastoni it has been three matches on the sidelines for Inter.

The 24-year-old had also missed both of Italy’s EURO 2024 qualifiers during the international break with a calf injury that he had picked up in training with the Azzurri.

Naturally, for Inter the absence of two regular starters in defense has been a blow.

That hasn’t stopped Inter from navigating a tricky set of fixtures after the international break.

The makeshift trio of Francesco Acerbi, Carlos Augusto, and Matteo Darmian held out for a clean sheet against Napoli on Sunday.

When Bastoni & Pavard Aiming To Be Back For Inter

But particularly with Stefan de Vrij picking up an injury against Napoli, the returns of Bastoni and Pavard can hardly come soon enough for the Nerazzurri.

And according to Tuttosport, at least one of the duo will be back very soon.

Bastoni should return to full training today or tomorrow.

Therefore, the Italian international will be in the squad against Udinese on Saturday. And then he can be at 100% against Real Sociedad in the Champions League next week.

Meanwhile, Pavard will still be out for a bit longer.

There is little hope of the 27-year-old being in the squad for the Serie A match away to Lazio on December 17.

But Pavard could be back for the subsequent Coppa Italia match against Bologna.

And if he is not fit then, the 2018 World Cup winner should be ready for the Serie A match against Lecce before Christmas.
