Defender Alessandro Bastoni still has not made a full return to training for Inter Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. Sky anticipates that Bastoni will likely be back training with the rest of the squad tomorrow.

Today had been the day that Bastoni was hoping to return to full training.

The 24-year-old has spent the past three weeks or so recovering from a calf problem.

And whilst Bastoni has been getting very close to making a full recovery in the process of his personalized fitness work, the Italian international is not quite there yet.

Therefore, Sky reports, Bastoni continued to work individually today.

The former Parma and Atalanta defender did not train normally with the rest of his teammates.

However, a return does not look to be far away for Bastoni.

On the contrary, Sky reports that the 24-year-old should certainly be able to return tomorrow, barring any further surprise setbacks in his recovery.

That will still give Bastoni a couple of days of full training ahead of Saturday evening’s match against Udinese.

Naturally, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will be hoping to have Bastoni at his disposal on Saturday.

And the coach will be anxious to get the defender back in full training at least a couple days before the match.

There may not be many doubts that Bastoni will be fit enough to be in the squad. But there will be one or two question marks about his match-fitness.

Reports have suggested that Inzaghi does not plan to start Bastonin on Saturday.

And if the Italian is only able to return to full training tomorrow, that would certainly seem all the more likely.

But even if Bastoni is only able to play from the bench, it would represent a welcome bit of reprieve from the Nerazzurri’s mounting injury crisis in defense.
